Who are we?

meets monthly in the function room of the Gardiner Arms pub in Tackley. Using modern, surround sound equipment, we show recent films in friendly, comfortable surroundings and then enable those who wish to stay on afterwards and chat about what they have seen.

What do we watch?

We have a wide ranging programme in the hope that, over time, we can provide something for everyone. We hope, too, that people might want to come regularly regardless of what is on the programme, and in so doing perhaps discover some films they would otherwise not have seen.

When do we meet?

Our regular night is the second Sunday of the month and our usual time is 7.30pm. However, for films that are particuarly family oriented, we may start earlier, so please do check our programme for the latest dates and times.

Tickets

Tickets are available on the door. However, seats and space are limited so, to avoid disappointment, you are encouraged to book your tickets in advance. Tickets are available from the village shop and, in due course, will also be available online.

Why are we here?

is a venture brought to you by Tackley Methodist Church. Films are a wonderful way to explore some of the issues we all face in our daily lives. They allow us to reflect on all sorts of questions at a safe distance as we engage with the characters, cry with them, laugh with them, get cross with them and generally share their experience. How they deal with the issues they come across may frustrate us, or give us new insights; cause us to laugh or cry; result in us hurling abuse at the screen or willing there to be a happy ending. And as we watch, we may even glimpse God at work in one way or another, whether we call him by that name or not. Above all, whether you are a person of faith or not, we hope you will enjoy the films and through them come to a greater understanding of the world we live in, the people we share it with, and the things we long and hope for in our community life together.
